We had an excellent stay in Porto for 3 days. The hotel was clean and had a great location, very close to a train station on the direct line from the airport.- The breakfast offered a lot of delicious options.

The attention of the staff was very kind and they kept our luggage for us all day as we were going back on the last train and it would be uncomfortable to continue sightseeing carrying it around. Its excellent location allowed us to walk to all the sites and public transport points a few meters away.
Mattresses need renovation. springs were completely noticeable at 100% and double bed was two beds glued together and still on top of each other with their individual sheets so we ended up sleeping both in one single bed and listening to everything that was going on in the other rooms. In the bathroom there were hairs on the wall that surely because they used the same cloth for everything. At breakfast there was not enough space to wait in line for a table because the terrace was not available because of the rain. room was not available until 3 o'clock, even though they told us another hour at the beginning.

Well, after past experiences, my concern is rest when you stay in cheap places. In this sense the Hotel has very comfortable beds (including the extra bed I slept in myself). In addition, rooms overlooking the hotel's own terrace are quiet and silent (you can only hear the seagulls, are very unruly in the whole city). Besides, it is very remarkable its cleanliness. breakfast contains just the right amount. Coffee, Juice, Tea, Pastries, Cereals, Butter, Marmalade, Oil, Cold Meat; just the right thing. In the Hotel there is a good Wifi and parking, important for those who go by car and we like to use it to change destination during the stay. It has a perfect location in the centre of Porto. From the hotel you can walk to the Douro River or if you prefer you can take a funicular to the riverbank 5 minutes from the hotel (it is a city full of hills and cobblestones and funicular saves you a good walk if you go with older people or children). hotel staff will inform you of everything you need; excursions, metro stops, quality restaurants nearby, etc. I will certainly repeat Porto and repeat at the Hotel San Gabriel - what a pleasure!
It was perfect. Thank you!

Gabriel in Porto. The recent renovation made the hotel look fresh and inviting. The beds were super comfy, and I loved the convenience of having central heating and an electronic key card in the room. It was great to have a work desk available too. I liked best of all careful relation of staff to the guests of the Hotel. Clean rooms, tasty breakfasts, friendly smiles!
The street under the windows from one side is too noisy. But the rooms from the other side are OK.

The property is extremely comfy and the staff is always pleasant. The rooms are functional and new-fashioned with central heating, an electronic key card and a work desk. The location is great and excellent, 15 minutes' walk to a Roman Catholic church. It's in a nice building in the local area. Every time we stay in Porto, like to stay here...

The staff was very friendly and always available 24/7 to help with any requests. The room was quite big and spacious, and the brand new washroom had all the latest facilities. Additionally, the hotel had a great location, right in the heart of the city, and within walking distance to key attractions and public transportation.
The room decor was a bit outdated, with a classic style that may not appeal to everyone. Additionally, the windows were not soundproof, so noises from the street and other guests could be heard.
